Author Topic: All the sudden, games crash for no reason?  (Read 2913 times)

I used to be able to play certain games such as "Primal Carnage" or "Far Cry 3" until my they would randomly crash for no reason or rhyme...

Primal Carnage will crash completely at random, I can't seem to understand why.. After a crash, this ended up in my copy & paste..

Fatal error!

Not sure what it exactly means, but all I did was spawn and I hardly had gotten to move from the spawn and it crashed..

Now onto Far Cry 3, for some reason the game will run absolutly fine at 60+ FPS until I take out any weapon; because then it would freeze for about a minute.. But it will eventually load.. However, the camera is a different story, if I take the camera out, the only way to save my computer from being a permanent freeze is to MANUALLY SHUT IT OFF..

Please help, I can hardly enjoy two of my favorite games...

verify game caches, considering you're missing files. also do any driver updates if they're available, it may be a driver problem.

I have just tried to update my graphics card software and no updates were available. How do I "veryify game caches?"

It sounds like your missing an update. Missing files usually means this. Just an educated guess.

Yes that is what I am thinking, however both of the games that I have had the problem with update via Steam, so shouldn't it fix anything with missing files on any update?

Maybe the update is what fudged with it. Very Possible.

I have heard in chat whilst playing the game once that people had problems with crashing, but the way they have fixed it was via a mod to allow more settings to be lowered. It seems that I am just missing files, not that the game is too intensive for my graphics cards..

Bump bumpity bump.. No seriously this is becoming a problem...

Thank you, I am going to verify both of the Games that I have expirenced issues with.

I have done a verification  for both the games that I have expirenced issues with, Primal Carnage said it was missing 12 game files and will be reacquired, Far Cry 3 reported it was missing 1 game file and it will be reacquired.

I have tested both games, the problem with the crashing on Primal Carnage has stopped, but on Far Cry 3 the bug still persist and I had to manually shut down my computer AGAIN.

trying uninstalling and installing it again

Primal Carnage no longer seems to have bugs, but Far Cry 3 still has the crashing bug in it.. And I beat the entire story I don't want to loose that X.x

before uninstalling it, find your saved game files, copy and paste them somewhere else, uninstall the game, then after installing put those saved game files back

i dont have farcry3 so i dont know where those files are, but just google it
