There are equally as many atheists who push policies as there are Christians. My point about r/atheism is that there are many people like them who get all high and mighty about how religion is such bullstuff and that religious people are ignorant and idiotic. I know plenty of people in real life who are like this and they are very unlikeable people, as the irony is that they too are insanely ignorant, and I don't just mean ignorance when it comes to religion. I'm talking ignorance in the way that if I were to say that I like something which they don't like, they would say it was completeley stuffty and give me stuff for liking to too. You are ignorant in the fact that you think that Christians are the only people who force themselves on others, whereas atheists are equally bad at cramming their policies down people's throats. I'm not saying it's all of us, but some.

Where are these policies that are so against any form of religion being pushed by atheists? Oh wait, there aren't any! Of course some atheists are douches but that doesn't mean religious people aren't forcing their beliefs on everyone, especially when there are several laws that exist because of religion. Like for example, no gay marriage.

Fair play to you on the stupid Christian laws, but some atheists still have their policies which they try to push on Christians (and other religions). I totally agree with you; Christian's views on gay marriage is completely forgeted up, but not all Christians adopt this state of mind, and not all atheists choose to butcher Christians beliefs. I guess both these atheists and Christians who believe gay marriage is wrong both have ignorance in common. it's more of an inherent problem with how christians and atheists separately develop: a vast majority of christians, and in fact most popular world religions, are inherited. you grow up with it, you adopt it, it's forced to you. whereas with atheism, many either begin with religious backgrounds, or are brought up without any inherent belief and do their own research. it's sort of the same situation as kids having been abused being abusers themselves, the process recycles over time.

The reason I am agnostic is basically because religion was first created to explain the unexplainable. People back when religion first appeared didn't know as much as we do now, so they created something that, for the time, accurately explained the 'why'. Science has grown largely since the time that religion began and we know so much more about the universe. We are beginning to reveal the 'why'. There is a reason why the last major religion was created in the 600s (AD). Now we can explain the unexplainable.

This is just my view.

Your view is pretty wide since I've heard other people say this same thing. You're correct and the Bible reflects about how things have changed. Women having no rights, Slavery, Stoning, things that were acceptable in the Bible are totally false now.
