Author Topic: Big Bang Theory without a laughtrack.  (Read 2487 times)

the big bang theory is a pretty bad show to be honest.

it's a show made by dumb people about smart people so dumb people can watch it and pretend to be smart. or something.

So, I enjoy watching Big Bang Theory. Does that make me dumb?

A thread about some angsty teens getting mad that people enjoy something they don't.

The show displays immense character study and humor based on awkward/uncommon situation.  It's a play on extremes which don't exist, yet there appears to be a group of individuals who go out of their way to prompt pissing competitions because they believe they're more "nerdy" than that of the people who watch it.  People who enjoy the show aren't out to prove that their more nerdy than you are, they're watching it because they find it humorous.  Humor is incredibly diverse AND adaptive.  I have a very dry, politically incorrect sense of humor, which I know a lot of people don't find funny at all, but some people think it's absolutely hilarious.

This also seems to be the case with people who hate Family Guy.  It became relatively popular and imploaded with the rebellious teens, as do most "mainstream" concepts.  I personally don't think King of the Hill is funny what so ever, yet you don't see me attacking people because they see it differently.

It's a television show, the fact that anyone's offended and/or deems others below them for watching it is loving laughable.

A lot of you need to get over yourselves.  You appear to be under the impression that you're more developmentally evolved for viewing something as being too stupid for your taste, and those who watch it to be just as stupid.

Why is this even an issue?  Why are there so many people who get angry that some people enjoy the Big Bang Theory?  If you're a "nerd" and get offended because you believe it displays your "people" inappropriately, you're not very bright.  The show isn't out to display the ridiculous lifestyle of a basement dweller or otherwise, it's to show extremes based on the show's situations.  And, let's keep in mind, this is coming from the guy who has over 400+ figures on display, an entire basement arranged with replicas breaching beyond $2000 from major Science Fiction films, and an extreme love of older, more involved science fiction.

also I have a crazy addiction for this show

Keep in mind part of the awkwardness is because they intentionally put a pause for the laughter duration so they don't overlap audio.

But yeah I counted laughtracks in an episode once and I'm pretty sure I hit 100+ before the end, pretty ridiculous.

I personally don't think King of the Hill is funny what so ever, yet you don't see me attacking people because they see it differently.

I still chuckled a bit.

And King of the Hill was totally funny. I love seeing generic Texans being made fun of.

Dumb*

If you're going somewhere, and that place has a specific name, it's best to capitalize the first letter in its name, it being a proper noun and all.
