the forums were really slow for me yesterday, but they've been fine for all of today

Uhm, I didn't find it remarkably slower than normal.

Like 98% of anything I do is at a normal quick speed.
And then every now and then going to another page on here would take 10 seconds, maybe.

It's not slow for me, but a bit slower compared to last week when I was on, not sure why.
