Point is XP is one of the more stable OS's that there is. Windows 7 forgets up to much if you ask me.
Vista is god awful
I have no opinion on 8, never used it.

My laptop lags Minecraft on anything but "Tiny" distance, Blockland can barely run on Minimum shaders, Dead Pixels lags to loving death, G Mod lags, TF2 runs slow, Counter Strike Source lags, but Terraria runs fine.

Yeah I thought so... Would getting more RAM and a better graphics card make it better? I am clueless on computers XD

Your computer is more than capable of running HL1 flawlessly. The only issue that it won't be able to run is incompatible graphics drivers.

However I was able to run HL1 on a ATI Radeon HD 6750 on a Windows 7 PC just fine.

I just said I've had better computers not run it, and I have all updated drivers. I'm not even going to install it however due to my HD space (I wanna make it last)
