Author Topic: Does anyone know how to cure a sore throat?  (Read 1264 times)

I've got it really bad. I can't eat or swallow at all, and it even hurts slightly when i breathe. I've got a headache whenever I walk up stairs or walk faster than .0007 miles per hour, and i'm sluggish and fevery. My dad thinks its just a sickness but it really feels like more than that, now i'm loving paranoid because i've been googling it and found some stuff about having some tonsil problem and getting it removed and damn i dont want em removed, and my tonsils are huge when i look in the mirror so that its like a tiny slit where i swallow (im guessing thats why i'm in pain, because of the slit.) if any of you have had this stuff before, what did you do before it? also, ive heard rumors about strep throat and this guy my dad plays tennis with had the same thing, but i just want answers.
i mean with the tonsil removal its not the problem about getting them removed, its all about the pain that comes afterward; forget, i dont even care about being in the hospital, i like hospitals (they're so clean) but if anyone has had this stuff before, like i said before could you tell me what you did?
i read about eating popsicles. i've had 2 today and damn, they taste good, but they don't do stuff but make me stuff. either way, i've also read about having tea with honey, and i had some tea with honey. it's not bad. i downed about 75 percent of the thing, and it also did not do stuff. but i want to know what the remedies for this throat are, if there are any at all. if there are no solutions, i guess i'll have to endure this.

sorry about the bad grammar. i'm not feeling well and my brain is slipping.

Sorry, I'm useless
Hope you feel better.

This doesn't sound like the type of throat ache that can be cured with some throat sweets and herbal tea.
I'm no doctor, but if worst comes to worst you might need stitches for that slit

Take painkillers, go to bed

i've taken chloroseptic, too. (basically cough drops.) they do nothing either
this is the third day. on the first day it was manageable, like, i could still eat, but then at night it became excruciatingly painful.

Just make sure it doesn't become infected
So no eating stuff k?

Gargle salt water?

I don't remember where I heard that idea but it's worth a try.

On the first day i had steak and fries for breakfast (yeah i know it's crappy)
then i ate a lot of popcorn and teriyaki.
Yesterday, i didn't eat breakfast. I had lunch at 2:00 (a burger and fries, only finished 1/2 of the burger though) and then ate about 0.001% of ramen because it hurt so bad.
today, i've had 2 popsicles, some tea, and thats it.

Gargle salt water?

I don't know where I heard that suggestion but it's worth a try.
i've seen that a lot, too. although if im right about salt water making you thirstier and it doesnt work, well... i'm already thirsty enough...

This might sound stupid but it worked for me.

Go under your blanket in bed and cover up everything. Sleep or stay there for hours until you really sweat. Like sweat a ton, so much the bed should be really wet after. It will clear up your sore throat.

tonsilitis
just eat easy to swallow food and drink a loot of cool liquids, it should fade off after a few days if even that.

If you have peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil at home, I recommend googling 1 teaspoon of it, it always works for me and it's a holistic alternative rather than constantly drinking water.

Only one way to find out what it is:

Find a flashlight, go to the nearest mirror, open your mouth and shine the flashlight into your mouth. Tell us what you see.

I've already done that - i've walked around with a blanket wherever i go.
