The Mac Operating System is pretty nice so its most likely just your hardware. I know a lot of the macbook pro's come with 5400rpm hard drives (which I really find forgeted up and stupid because almost any other hard drive you buy today in any other any computer is 7200rpm) which is what can essentially make Blockland loading up seem slower, that and your processor.

Ok yay you aren't one of the people who automatically think mac is always horrible. But yes that is messed up and I do have a mac book pro.

About 15 seconds. Though it is largely dependent on how many add-ons I have installed. Vanilla loads in 4 seconds. Computer is brand new and has quite good specs.
