Tips for a newbie?
Aim for the head, look for nooks and crannies, and know when to back out of a fight. Don't forget to add mods to your freshly upgraded weapons. Get to new planets as quickly as possible, specifically Sedna. Be on the look-out for alerts and check their rewards by clicking the alert in the top left. You're going to have to go online for higher level missions/assassination missions.
Don't spend your platinum on anything unless you plan on buying more, with the only exception being Warframe slots and maybe weapon slots. DO NOT BUY REVIVES! They restock every day.
