Author Topic: Downgrading from Windows 8 to 7, how would I do this?  (Read 1319 times)

I'm downgrading from windows 8 to windows 7, using a USB stick, I downloaded a ISO, put it into Windows 7 USB download tool, I manually earlier tried with diskpart, but no luck, while at the setup screen, it asks me to insert driver media or browse for them.
Trying with WIN7USBDL tool, it asked me for drivers, I copied my NVIDIA folder that was in the C:\ directory, and searched for the display device folder, it accepted it, and allowed me to hit next, but it shouldn't have done this as far as I know, anyone know what to do?

Why would you wanna do this? I heard Windows 8 was ok.

Why would you? Windows 8 is a lot better performance wise.
All your doing is getting slightly better UI.

Got sick of windows 8, it was annoying to use in my opinion.

Past 5 months I've had my computer, its had windows 8.
I just don't like using it.
Some features there are is just eh.

You can't just downgrade to Windows 7 like an upgrade from 7 to 8.  You have to reformat and install Windows 7 all over again.

I understand that.

There are programs to make it look exactly like 7.
Why did you not ask first?

This topic is not about why, it's about how. Just because you like it does not mean everyone likes it.

Insert windows 7 disk and tell it to format the hard drive before installing stuff

I have a friend who has Windows 8, he hates the interface, but the performance is good.
