I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to Windows 8 yet.

You shouldn't IMO.
Its your choice, actually.

Currently Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

There's also Windows 7 (probably 64-bit) computers in my house, though.
And I also have a Ubuntu Server 12.10 hard drive (currently unplugged because I can't be able to access it from the XP boot menu, forget you microsoft) as well.

also -Maxx- add an "Other" option for the poll in case someone doesn't have an os listed in it

I've been really considering since there are more pros than cons in Windows 8. Better taskbar support for 2 or more screens, better explorer UI, cleaner task manager, faster boot times, and slightly higher FPS in games. The only con is the the new start menu. Which is easily replaceable with "Start Menu 8" from IObit.

Most of the start buttons that they made use legacy start code that was left over when Microsoft made the windows 7 start menu inaccessible, however, they're going to be removing the whole code in the next updates though.
