Author Topic: Have to re-enter key after every computer startup.  (Read 1430 times)

Every time I start Blockland after having my computer restarted, I get the "Authentication key" popup and have to dig trough my mail to find my key.
The key "lasts" until I turn off my computer.

How are you connecting to the internet?

My computer is directly connected to the router trough cable.

Open your Blockland folder (found in Documents) and make sure that "key.dat" is not read-only.

Make sure that all of your drivers are up to date. (network drivers)

Check if you are behind a proxy. http://www.lagado.com/proxy-test

How do I check if my drivers are up to date?

Is there some button to begin the test or is it done as I open the site?

open the start menu, in the search box type "device manager". you should find the device manager there, so open it. in the device manager, find a category which says "network adapters" and expand it (by clicking the + button). in that category, all your network drivers are displayed. right click the first driver, go to properties, go to "driver" tab and press "update driver". do this for each driver displayed in the network adapter category.

Yep, it says all drivers (but hamachi which it couldn't update) are up to date.

well then...

make a copy of key.dat and put it on your desktop (just in case something screws up)

delete key.dat from your blockland directory, open blockland again and insert your serial key. reboot computer and open blockland again. does the problem persist?

Does nothing.

Also, no addons work on the startup in which i enter my key. To use my normal addons, I have to start BL, enter my key and restart blockland.

This is normal, add-ons aren't executed if the key.dat doesn't work

Try uninstalling Hamachi and tell us if the problem persists.

I'll try when I get home from school.

It didn't work.

Okay, I think I know your problem.
An anti-virus may be causing this problem. Make sure that your anti-virus doesn't block blockland.
Also, rightclick blockland.exe, and click properties. Go to permissions, and make sure it isnt read-only. Do the same for the blockland launcher.exe.
Hope this helps.
