Webdings/Wingdings aren't meant to actually type with

It's like
You need a symbol of something for one of many possible reasons
You switch to that font
You type the character for the symbol you need
you switch back.


So if you want something to type with of course it's useless.
But it's useful for the purpose it was actually intended for
