Before you join a server, you can press the "Information" button on the server list to view stats and to rate the server.

It also provides automatic downloading of GUIs for a server.
[/quote]Oooooohhhhhhhh... Genius...

Perhaps it needs to be like-only?
Similar to greenlight? That'd actually work pretty well.

Doesn't really solve the first one. That's not a case of abuse or anything, it's the fact that people just don't like that style of server.
By that, I meant time on the server.

I'm still playing with ideas. Right now I'm leaning towards and upvote-only system.

Why not just have a comment system for the servers ratings like amazon. They rate and have a comment and can be flagged for spam and if too many flags it get removed.

Seems a bit silly, considering the amount of time the usual server stays up for. Permanently storing the reviews doesn't really make sense either, since the host might decide to host something else with the same set of variables that the system filters the comments by. And even if you get all that worked out properly, if you look at most posts on add-ons and RTB add-on comments, do you really think enough people would say something interesting for it to be worth reading through the crap?

That's definitely something I want to do. Reporting a link, or even a server as a whole. Unfortunately, that could be abused and every url could be marked as malicious.
That's what a review board is for

I've been doing some work with following servers and remote management of them. Here's a start at one of the GUIs:

Basically, when a server that you're following starts up, you get a notification. If the server is running BLG, the notification is instantaneous - otherwise, the client checks the server list every 5 minutes or so and runs through the server list to see if any followed servers have gone on/offline.

What exactly am I copying?

rtb of course! they look pretty similar, not saying you actually copied it tho.

I think he's talking about how it looks very similar to the RTB interfa-

Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post.

yup

Any other layout would be really clunky IMO. And it's not like RTB invented that particular look.

So, evidently I overlooked a small detail when I released beta 1 - The server information is connecting to a blank address, which for whatever reason somehow still managed to connect to the server and led me to believe that the system was working as I intended. Therefore beta 1 is actually completely, totally broken. Sorry about that, I added the one line of code to fix that and I'll release beta 2 soon.

Very nice job.

Do we need a bunch of different keys to run Glass?

This is the only downside to calling it "glass".
