Figured I would attempt to make an archive of Bisjac's informative posts about making money, feel free to contribute.

Stocks:

lol kids

just because a stock is worth a lot dosnt mean its a good investment.
maybe a decade ago it was, but investing is to be done in something that has growth in the future...
why on earth would you buy into something that has peaked.

just in apple.

the entire point of investing is growth. if you just wanted to put your money where its not going to do anything at all, might as well leave it in the bank.
companies are trapped in the infinate growth paradigm. and its impossible to keep it up.
they are only "successful" if they make more income then the year before. apple has peaked. a new product will spike it for a month or so, but it will go back down again very quickly.

you guys are only stock-witted enough to see a big number on a company name, i wouldnt trust any of you to trade at the right times, in the matter of hours usually lol

edit. actually you CANT trade by the hour unless you are a broker yourself, or pay crazy fees and belong to crazy subscriptions through brokers.
you are forced to trade at the end of the day when market closes. and you are forced to make a bid based on what you THINK the market will reopen at.
that is not safe for high value stock. if your not trading by the hour, you dont belong there.

are you saying it's a waste of money to invest, period? or just in apple?

Bitcoins:

lol... you guys had to learn the hard way. playing with fake money to get rich and you all look like fools.

even the fact that a single user did this is suspicious. cant be trusted. or the fact that a single user CAN do this at all.

the entire point was supossed to be an alternative to fiat currency(ies)
yet everyone who uses the things, compare it's value, and the value of things they can buy with the bitcoins.... to the USD
so its all a failure already.

they use an escrow account instead of a barter like USD cash would. except since bitcoins are not a dept based IOU, the concept is broken.
(cant have escrow type trade without a dept-note of some kind)
the entire thing is a sham.

#2 reason they are a sham. they froze trading. you do not do that for a correction. for any type of currency.
they are only shooting themselves in the foot for doing so.

a real successful currency would be a LOW number compared to other currencies. not higher lol.
and that currency would also have MORE buying power, regardless of small number size.

when you brag about having lots of value, yet it can still only buy what usd values it to buy. then it is fake and has failed lol

yet they alone exploited the whole system for their own greedy gain. and it worked.

it looks like the bitcoin experiment has failed. there will always be bankers or brokers that will cheat and control it all.

Keeping Money under control:

i buy gold coins with all my uneeded income. holds value or grows faster then a bank can do. and it takes a whole extra errand to go out and liquidate it, so a person couldnt so easily spend it away without thinking about it.

eTrade (OP was asking what to do with 100$):

Quote
Open a "premium active trader" etrade account, with a standard cash (non margin) security.

Then link a checking account from your home bank and transfer it all in.
Cept DON'T buy anyhthing with it, just keep it in your brokerage cash unused index.

It earns cash interest DAILY. And in a month it can be 200
Then continue to sit on it till you have 1000.00
Then anything >1000 you earn daily, use that to buy random stock to practise with

General:

Quote
"good" bank interest rates would be like 5% yearly

$100 a paycheck saved would add up roughly $2,600.00 a year.
after 40 years you could FINALLY hit your 100k base amount. (only slightly sooner thx to the awesome interest helping out) then we can start to see how we live off it...

wow. 5k a year profit.
well i am wrong. you CAN keep up with inflation. but you earned NOTHING.
and you certainly cannot live off that

another 40 years later, still not enough a year to live on.

a penny saved is a penny wasted

the fact is;
money helps you earn money.
if you are saving it, its not earning. and you are failing

--DISCLAIMER--

im not gonna pretend to be pro at it lol.
my advice may not even be good. it could have just worked for me, or i was lucky or just had the opportunities at chance.

plus anything i could tell you guys would only apply to 18+ people anyways

plus my "wealth" (am i even rich?) didnt start with investing. i ran a successful internet business for about a decade.
THAT income i learned to invest with.

He made a post a while back about how to use an etrade account to make a considerable amount of money through investment in silver and other metals. The market has likely fluctuated since then, but the account with etrade is still probably a good idea.

I recall him trying to buy coins of people like a year ago.. or gold or something. I don't remember.
Bisjac is all about da mones.

And suddenly someone finds a huge ammount of gold hidden in some ancient temple, and all his gold is worthless

That's all like basic information about stocks, and common sense for bitcoins. None of this is amazing at all.

He was trying to buy silver coins from people for like double their value when back then they were worth 18-22x their value. I doubt it went well.

I'll look for a quote.

Which is why I was hoping some people could help me locate some of his better posts, because I don't want to go through a hundred something pages of posts myself.

it went very well.
and i buy regular nickels as well for twice the price

Considering that topic only had one person ask about like 2 nickels they had before it died I'm sure it was a smashing success.

Added the etrade quote.

I guarantee This isn't the only place he was looking for coins in.

Also, Bisjac, since you're here would you mind giving us some basics on how we should go about making money with money? or would that be too much at once?

im not gonna pretend to be pro at it lol.

Fair enough, Just figured I would ask. Would you mind sharing anything for people over 18? even general common sense stuff that people don't usually seem to understand? because it would apply to me and I'm curious.
