Not out of bricks? :(

if you upgrade to haswell you will need a 1150 socket motherboard, see if your ram is compatible, see if your psu can handle it and spend loads more money

Unless you're doing demanding stuff that aren't video games, there really isn't much of a point to getting more than 8 gb of RAM, in my opinion. I think you should just save up for something else.
Well yeah, as I plan on doing 3d rendering in maya and other strenuous activities and would prefer not to have to let models bake for 2+ hours, I am going to be upgrading ram. Thank you for your opinion though.

yeah i noticed that... i guess that means in a few months ill need a new motherboard as well. Oh well. This is meant to be a temporary solution.
I meant to get a board that was 1150 compatable which was on sale last month for like half off but its back up at $300 again and I would rather just wait until a few months into haswell so they get any kinks out.

So I was a mistaken. There are not even that many boards out with 1150, the one i mentioned that i didnt get didnt actually have it so it wouldnt have made a difference and I guess I saved money. Pretty much I will need a new motherboard whenever I get a new chip, yes, but I didnt want t wait a few more months for a computer.

Why did you buy a 650w PSU (unles you plan on upgrading)? A 500w would've just been fine (you would save $35)
I was advised to have a PSU with double the amount my board uses in case of spikes, which I didn't even do.

And a HDD

Any thoughts before I make this purchase?
Nvm, done.

So I think I might have gotten a power supply that will end up being upsidedown by accident due to having chosen a different case last minute.
Will this cause many issues?

What do you mean by upside down? Like the mounting is on the bottom of the case?

No, as long as you are able to connect everything to the power supply, all will be fine. You'll like the i5-3570k! Though if you plan on overclocking or doing cpu intensive tasks, do get an after market cooler because that baby runs HOT if you don't.

ALSO:  I don't recall if you've bought a mobo yet but I am also selling my ASROCK FM2A75 Pro4 mobo along with my amd cpu.

Just giving you the option ;D
Nice choice on the case, looks well ventilated. A nice aesthetic feature would be to buy a couple red LED fans.

haswell comes out in like a month. just wait for it.

Just words of wisdom that I've always lived by: If it barely makes your budget, it's not in your budget.

If you live near a Microcenter, they have the same CPU going for only $119. If you want the 3570k, it's only $169.

No its not a scam or refurbished or anything. I think they get it directly from the factories, but I'm not sure. All I know is that I've been running the 3570K from there for about 5 months now with no problem.

Seriously? I just got a 3570k

Yay my parts are starting to arrive already! I can't wait to get off work and start building this thing!
:D

Do you have a nice case? :D
Some nice specs there, planning to upgrade at christmas myself but I'm more of an AMD guy myself.

^ my planned build in a couple months
mm
let me suggest you something
why would you sli 2 680's if you can buy the 690, which is just 2 680 GPU's together
the 690 consumes less power, costs the same, performs a bit better, and it is much easier to install than sli'ing 2 680's

i planned on posting it on /r/buildapc for some advice like this
looked up some benchmarks, switched it to a 690.
thanks bb
