Not at all really, it's completely picture based where as Twitter can be anything (text, pictures, video links, etc).  Instagram also comes with "unique" photo filters to ruin enhance your photos or make them look hip and edgy unique and special.

I remember making fun of twitter.  And yet I use it more than Facebook now.  However I think I'll stick with making fun of Instagram and not using it, I just don't like it.

I just completely stopped using twitter. Anyone I followed posted nothing interesting, on instagram its all photos and tends to be more interesting.

Now there are just too many social networking sites which are pointless, Google+ is the only social networking site with a great purpose (it didn't turn out as popular as it should of been sadly).
I use Twitter once a week, and what people post is just so stupid and meaningless like "I just wiped my ass and there was stuff all over the toilet paper", seriously? That's what people post about on Twitter; their boring lives.
I'll give this and Tumblr a shot though.

God, I really dislike the Twitter mentality.
90% of tweets by teenagers on it talk about themselves and how popular they are and "hardships of life".
I'm not gonna join Instagram now that I just looked it up.

I don't follow idiots because I actually know or like their tweets, but many times I'm asked to follow someone and they'll follow me back, and I'm like "hey what the heck, its a win win for the both of us".

Ill never understand the amount of hate directed towards social networks. If all you see is stuff on your timeline/feed then get better friends? They act like its Facebook/Instagram/Twitter's job to make their friends interesting.
