Yes it is?
If you make something, and release it even as first and however stuffty it is, and if you are aware of it and claim that it's your first, it's a very stuffty excuse.
If it's your first and you know it's bad, and even if it's not your first but you know it's bad, don't put it up on the forums, you could always ask friends for opinion, ask for help, ask for opinions in IRC, look for tutorials; not /release/ it, and when people begin giving bad opinions about them, just use "it's my first decal" as excuse.
Point is, if you know it's not very good, at least don't make a topic about it.
