Honestly without maps there is really no reason to play the game. Yes it's a fun game but other people just see it as another block building game with nothing really unique about it. What separated it from the other building games before was that you are like a little Lego guy building inside a giant house. You had to go around different pieces of terrain and obstacles to build and had to get creative with building. Just like when you built Lego stuff in your room as a little kid. Terrains were the reason I checked out blockland in the first place. Because it was different from building on a flat service that nearly every other building game had at the time. Now blockland just blends in with the crowd.

I couldn't have said that better myself.

Honestly, there's a reason for 'joining the crowd'. A flat surface is simply something better to build on. I did not join Blockland for the terrains and interiors. I joined it because it was a building game. What got me to stay with Blockland though, was the moddability of it. There are far more things you can do with Blockland compared to other sandbox games. Updates to the game, and even for some of our add-ons, were taking longer because of terrains and interiors, whether or not we played on them ourselves. I always played on slate, or some variation of it. But yet, I had to code stuff to work for terrain and non-flat interiors. I wanted nothing to do with them because they limit our creativity, and look bad on top of that. But yet I still had to make my stuff work with it. I'm sure Badspot felt the same way. He always hosted on Skylands, yet with every update, he had to make everything work with non-flat interiors, and terrains. So you want slower updates and limited creativity? Good. Go find some place else for that.

Kept a copy of course. I still have v19 installed to my offline computer too
I do realize that. I myself enjoyed making terrain maps, and working with Torque Constructor

Email me it, too bad it's an exe

I didn't say that I wanted terrain and interiors back or that blockland is ruined without them. I'm saying that it just looks like an average Lego game with nothing original about it to the common gamer. Interiors and terrains gave it something unique to stand out from the crowd. Yes it is easier to make addons for it now and updates are faster but to everyone else who is looking to see if it's worth the money it just looks like an average Lego game.

change extension to .txt.

I understand what you're saying, but I still think it would be a good idea, and Badspot would benefit from it as well.
How is it a good idea? As Chrono stated, an interessting amount of add-ons wouldn't be compatible to both versions and what happens if people only make add-ons, that only support the newer or older version? What happens if people start to discover some exploits/glitches in the older versions and abuse them like stuff?

It doesn't matter how "You" think about it or how anyone else thinks about it. What matters is, what Badspot thinks about it. And if you look at the original Shadows & Shaders vs. Interiors & Terrains topic, I can clearly say already, that Interiors and Terrain is never coming back to Blockland again. Badspot said himself, that I&T are only taking up memory and were outdated(stuffty) anyways. Everyone here can post these topics as much as they want, they won't get you any far, because Badspot stated already, that I&T aren't coming back. And Blockland really needed a huge milestone, and this was in case the S&S update, which I really like. To reach that milestone, we had to offer up I&T. Yes, I&T were awesome and seeing them in some older videos brings up memories. But S&S seems to replace that empty part, so I almost forgot about I&T. We have to get over it, it's gone and it won't come back ever again.

So, I please you, OP. Stop posting any topics, which are having the same or any similar subject to this. Besides the slogan: "Blockland: That game where you build stuff." got valid after I&T were killed.

Damn I knew I said I was going to stop arguing but...

Just drop it, terrains where ugly, and so where interiors, and because of maps existing some forums users thought they where special and had a higher priority over others because they knew how to make maps.

The loss of Interiors and terrain is a good thing , it was made Blockland even better encouraging people to build new terrain or find new creative uses for existing things, and with Shaders we no longer look like a game from 2004 we look like something new and fresh.
Also an an average Lego game doesn't have a robust modular addon system, I could make a list but I'd rather not.

So for those ignorant dumbforgets who want to keep bitching about terrain, get with the times, its not 1999 we don't need terrains or interiors where better than that, the only reason people have quit Blockland is because they don't want to get off their lazy asses and begin building, as soon as they start they see what they have ahead of themselves and they just decide to stop building and cancel their build.

Back then in v20 if you wanted to host a server (Lets use a fortwars server as an example)
You just built a couple of bases with doors and items inside and vehicles outside, and duped the thing on the other side of the map, but with a different color scheme, and bam you got a server

Blockland: that game where you build stuff. not go on maps.

That's right. Hop on the bandwagon.

Imagine Blockland with half the users and twice the bugs.

if you guys dearly want to play on v19 go get some of your friends have one of them host in v19 and join them, but don't expect official support

Oh god.

Someone could probably make a downgrader but I read somewhere that it's against rules.

you don't even need that, you can download v19 from the official website

well said. sums up the credible, logical argument against it.
