Its not abuse unless he shoots it many times. One time is more the less a warning to it.

Harming a cat = abuse.
Shooting a cat with a BB gun = harming a cat

When it acts up, spritz it with water or push it away with a broom.

The latter would most likely work the best, brooms are the bane of felines.

Its a slight harm, you aren't doing anything serious. Even if it is "abuse" its hardly any.
Its not like I said "blow its leg off"

Oh, so since it's legal you think it's just fine and dandy to harm a cat?
/animalabuse
some people just hate cats like that for no reason and do stupid things to them, it really is sickening
You're both idiots. A cat is an animal, not a human being. I believe they have no conscious thoughts or any actual feelings to hurt. Popping it with a BB gun won't kill it. But a sting from something like that gives it something to remember. And I can't afford to give my cat food if some other animal keeps eating it and especially HARMING MY CAT. I keep my cat as a pet, and generally people like it when their pets are healthy. So if you can't count this as defense of my cat rather than me intentionally wishing to inflict pain on this other cat for pleasure is preposterous.

Killing a cat is wasteful. Shooting a stray, inbred loving cat so I can feed mine is a greater good in my eyes.

Water hose, cardboard box, airsoft BB, nerf guns, bang pot's and pans together. There is a buttload of ways to scare off a cat.

Also you can use a bike and slam on your brakes about 3 inches from the cat. That'll scare it senseless.

I don't own a bike. That sounds very silly anyway.

Just scare it away with a broom, it works every time.

If it doesn't run away immediately upon seeing the broom, just push the cat with the broom.

It's going to come back.

iirc, technically, since it is a stray attacking his cat on his property he can legally harm it, if not kill it

You're both idiots.
Excuse me fugly beard but I wasn't against shooting it

You're the idiot here.

The solution is to get a bucket of water ready and throw all the water on the cat when it tries to come in. (You should be doing this outdoors only!) If you do that a couple times (You have to do it every time the cat comes, if you don't splash it one time it will think the problem is over), then it won't come back.
