Author Topic: How do i make a model?  (Read 1103 times)

model as in player typ or turret or stuff like that what program do i need?

You can use blender, the download is on the blockland site

Edit: here it is

I use autodesk inventor, but don't usually use my models on blockland. I'm sure blender is able to change the model files to the correct file name.

That's like AutoCAD right? I don't know anything about AutoCAD or how it works but if you can save your model as a .obj then you're good to go. Just save it as a .obj and then import it into Blender and then from blender export it as a .DTS. It's more work however you will be stil be using something familiar to model in.

Yeah that's exactly what it is. And thanks. I should try it sometime. I could make some pretty neat things for blockland if I get someone to make them into working Addons for me.

Lol i used to have a class where you model things in autocad and i sucked. :(

I use Autodesk 3DS Max to build the weapon or model, export to a .obj; and use milkshape to add textures, animations, and finishing touches, then export to .dts.
Btw, you should try using my machine gun pack as a reference. It's in the add-ons section of the forums.
If you want, I can actually give you the source files.
