Author Topic: Recent (and extremely minimal to major) framerate drops.  (Read 599 times)

Hello, I've been working on a project for about a couple of weeks and just yesterday I noticed Blockland would drop one frame from its usual 60fps, down to 50fps, as framerate is a major, major pet peeve of mine. No big deal, right? Well, on certain occasions I've minimized Blockland; usually to look for something online, or to reply to a message on steam, and find the game freezing every few seconds, or whenever I highlight something, open the RTB Mod manager, or show/hide the hud.

I've minimized its settings to try to improve the 10 frame drop (OCD kicking in) and it didn't seem to do much. I've run other games such as TF2 and Garry's Mod (whilst I get around 45-50 fps) on these games, the freezing doesn't occur, and because the framerate usually stays in that range it's easy to shrug off the consistency. Here are my specs, in case you're wondering: http://puu.sh/2Ucu1.png

I really can't afford any new components for my PC, I was recently fired from my job and now I'm pinching pennies. Any low-budget, econ-friendly suggestions?

use fullscreen, in borderless mode you render both the desktop and blockland and it is slower.
when fraps has recorded a lot of footage it tends to lag, (or at least for me)

after i delete it, it seems to work fine again

noedit

you could also open up task manager and tell it to focus on blockland and fraps, that is what i do

Although running in fullscreen kind of limits my ability to look things up and having to use the godawful steam overlay to google things, that helped me immensely, thanks.
