You split up his post and made it sound like he made a help section excuse.
He clearly stated that he learned how to modify yesterday, NOT STATING an exact time at which he learned this, so your point on that is invalid, and added that he was in the help section and he could not modify there, placing a ) to indicate that as a reason.
And on the image thing; he assumed the image was correcting your post, no this does not make him 'stupid'.
