Because the engine lacks optimization for static shapes.

Bricks are optimized in the engine so they de render when you are not looking at them. Static shapes do not do this and constantly render all the time.

If that static shape map was released, I bet you it will be failed.
bricks are optimized so that faces that aren't showing are hidden. this is possible because they're on an oct tree, which also is probably a good reason as to why they're static. it's really what makes fxDTSBrick bricks so superior to static shape bricks

the mod obviously doesn't lag everyone to death, but similar mods have been failed in the past. staticshapes are apparently an unacceptable replacement in general.

This seems like a fair place to ask this, but do vehicles handle differently (better/worse) on static shapes compared with bricks?
they probably handle better on staticshapes

the terrain bricks of course whats like the only way to bring back bedroom like i tried but it didnt work out so well

I'm sure it wouldn't take a lot of static shapes to build the kitchen or the bedroom, especially if the interiors were made hollow wherever possible.

do you mean solid?

do you mean solid?
Yeah, solid would be better because if you're making things hallow then you're adding more faces and polys to the model. Unless you mean the inside is blank and that would be a solid brick, if you went inside it you'd fall through like you would with the interior meshes from the bedroom.

I see the whole schpiel like the Berlin wall, it's funny because when people try to revert back to v20, or they attempt at doing something like that, it seems to always get removed or failed - like the Berlin wall, keeping people in v21, not leaving, lol.
