Well, what you people don't realize is that if a zombie invasion were to strike, people could just stay inside their homes. Zombies don't see or know that humans are inside houses. All we would have to do in the case of an invasion is to just wait out until the corpses rot away (about 2 or so days) or the army paints the streets with them.
