Author Topic: Yahoo bought Tumblr without loving it over (link at page 8)  (Read 6979 times)

Do they really want to own a site filled with emotionally distressed fans and research addicts?

Why do people just generalize the forget out of Tumblr? I haven't seen anything bad once in my one year of service so far. It's a fantastic place for artists to share their material, and it's considerably easier to find newer artists through it. People seem to think Tumblr is the "emo-kid reblog city" website. Get over yourself.

it's true though
Most of it is stuff, just like those Facebook fan pages.

forget, my friend said that they actually bought it for some billion dollars.

And? They're not going to shut it down.

Could be worse.

They could've bought Blockland.

And? They're not going to shut it down.
Of course they're not going to shut it down, judging from that image in the OP the only sites they did shut down were ones nobody gave a damn about. Astrid? Summly? According to a quick google search, those sites were a glorified to-do list and newsfeed, respectively. Not a blogging site with a huge userbase. This thread is just Cybertails being a warning bell for the millionth time.

^ heard u were talkin stuff

also just thought i'd leave this here

How is that a low initial offer? There's no real reason that yahoo shouldn't buy tumblr except people think that they're secret internet club will become to mainstream

nothing's going to happen, quit loving whining

If Google were to try and purcahse tumblr -> it's okay guys nothing to worry about
Yahoo -> OMG IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!
