Getting the Titan: No, get a new 7990.
Getting a 690: wutevs, your choice.

At this point, I can't go AMD. I watch 3D movies and play 3D games. My monitor also has built-in Nvidia 3D vision and I already own two pair of the glasses. I'm also a fan of physx.

The Titan can't be compared to the 7990 because they don't have the same architecture.

It's like comparing a quad core CPU to a dual core CPU, no matter what the quad core is going to perform better.
If the titan had dual-GPU architecture it would outperform the 7990 by a long shot, but it doesn't.

I'm personally an AMD guy, but the cards just can't be compared.  Between a 690 and a 7990 the 690 would usually win just because most games nowadays are built skewing towards Nvidia architecture.

Wut? Why can't you compare a gpu to another gpu? So what if it's a different architecture. You can still compare benchmarks. That's really the only important thing when selecting a gpu, well besides it's requirements.

Read the post, I wasn't saying that you can't compare when you're looking to buy one, I'm talking in technological terms.

The new 7990 does if it's a non-skewed game, but most games, like I said, are skewed to Nvidia, so therefore in most realistic benchmarks the 690 outperforms.

Nope.

I'm talking about sli and high resolutions.

Obviously the GTX 690 is better at normal gaming, but it's just that the Titan, a single GPU card is able to keep up with a GTX 690, a dual GPU card which is fantastic. It's like they packed the GTX 690 into a smaller card.

The Titan was made to handle huge resolutions and take huge advantage of sli.

A tri-sli or even sli Titans will be able to beat quad-sli GTX 690.

I mean there's even instances where a single Titan will be faster than tri-sli Titans.
And no I'm not trying to hate against the GTX 690, it's definitely the fastest card out there today (not counting workstation GPUs), but the Titan can keep up without a sweat.

But both cards are way too overrated.

Grrrr I'm talking about Titan vs 7990. The 690 is on its own decision point for the consumer. The Titan and 7990 are the same price, but the 7990 outperforms it.
