There was a bulge seen on the outside of the building. The water mains were disrupted by the collapse of WTC1. The building burned uncontrolled for 7 hours. The core collapsed before the exterior collapsed. The building had pretty much collapsed by the time the exterior walls fell. The exterior walls fell with little resistance making it look like the whole building fell.
