I don't really see how that would be beneficial on here...

Are there any cases where it really is a problem that a topic gets bumped when someone posts in it?

For example on a terriable self drama, spam threads, or just any thread you have something to say about, but dont want to prolong the topic to do so.

well we could actually see the entire top page of off topic section without all the spammy pointless forum games that friends keep at the top.

they can continue to post in it. without bumping

Although it would be nice to tell off those stuff threads without bumping them a feature like this only really encourages flaming.

Most times if someone is not bumping a thread they're just being a cunt.
