Author Topic: Is it possible to move the Blockland folder to another place?  (Read 1224 times)

Without being locked only on C:\Documents\Blockland, I want to move it to D: but I'm not sure if it's possible

not that I'm aware of
I really dunno why badspot did that
it's the first game I can remember seeing that worked like that
I'm sure he has some reason for it but it seems ridiculous to me

Right click the icon for your blockland launcher, go to properties and add
-profilePath E:/Blockland/
to it.
It should then plant a new blockland folder there and you just have to move over all your saves and addons and stuff and then delete the one in documents

Here's my little copy-paste tutorial:

Changing Your Blockland Profile Path (for Windows)

Right click on your Blockland shortcut and go to Properties. Click the Shortcut tab.

The target field will look something like this:
Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Blockland\BlocklandLauncher.exe"
To change Blockland's directory, add the -profilePath "C:\Path to\folder" parameter to the end. The target should now look like this:
Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Blockland\BlocklandLauncher.exe" -profilePath "C:\Path to\folder"You can now launch the game using that shortcut and it will install the files to your new profile path.

Also make sure to copy all of the config and add-on files you want over from the old directory to the new directory.

oh
neat
<insert '60s Spiderman comic picture here>

Also, don't forget "-dedicated" or "-dedicatedLAN" for dedicated servers.

Oh wait nevermind I can't find the Shortcut Tab on properties, I will try to find it tommorow

you're doing it on the launcher shortcut, right? not the .exe?

download blockland portable from here

http://www.blockland.us/Download.html
halfway down the page

unzip folder, and always run blockland using the file named "runme"

noedit

the file above simply puts the blockland folder in the same folder as the one you are running blockland off of

It is doing the exact thing i suggested to do except it sets the profile path to the current folder

When you use the "portable" download, setting up a shortcut is pretty trivial as it only involves right-clicking "RunMe.bat" and creating a shortcut.
