Pretty much the same thing with coca cola, just let the knife sit in a container that covers it in cola.
Problem is the sugars would make it sticky making you have to clean it off, possibly putting more rust on it. Not as much as before but still have rust.

Turns out I used rust remover jelly instead, didn't even know I had it. Worked perfectly though.

That stuff also works real great lol.

wel they are like 5 bucks for the whole thing.
at least replace the blade itself, they arent meant to last long anyways, and replacements come in packs of like 20 at a time.

its a common tool that sells everywhere and they are dirt cheap.

its like finding a beat up broken hammer and wanting to use it. like just spare the 5 bucks for a new one

Like Bisjac said, those things are cheap just buy a new one if you want one that isn't rusty.

I have the least expensive solution yet - dip it in a container of water and salt.

you could also heat it up to a high temperatur.
