Author Topic: What kind of "myths" does Blockland have?  (Read 2107 times)

After watching a series of Mythbusters when I was feeling sick yesterday, I started wondering what a Blockland parody of Mythbusters might be like. It seems like it could be a good idea, but there are some problems that would come up.

I think the main issue would be finding any myths to work with. There aren't many myths in Blockland due to the small community in the first place, but besides that, it's much easier to test and find out things in a game like this than in real life. Meaning that anything I could possibly work with would immediately be eliminated as a possibility because others have probably already figured out if it's true or not by the time I would try it.

So while I have doubt that something like this would work well, since this game does revolve around creativity, I thought I'd ask anyways. What kind of myths can you guys think of that may work for something like this? If I can come up with some good ideas I may try and make an episode or two.

Renderman is probably the largest myth in the entire game or community but it's mainly just an excuse for a bunch of ten year olds to scream about finding the real slenderman and pissing their pants in game. It's really crap and I hope there aren't more myths - i guess the far lands is one, but i'm a gaming myth expert generally, at least in gta. there's so many more myths for larger games.

There was a short lived Blockland mythbusters series a few years ago.

Wasn't that some stuffs and giggles thing, completely unrelated to the real myths of the game and more focused on just exploiting physics and vehicles?

I'm sure there are some people that actually believe in it, too.

This isn't meant for farlands, golden brick, and renderman type things. I mean something that can actually be tested, and that we don't already know for a fact is true or false

There's really nothing then.

The far lands isn't a myth. If you go really far, torque starts messing up, because it has a hard time handling numbers over a 999,999.

This was pretty old, but I liked it. Maybe someone should carry on the legacy?

Those stuffmyths were created by a bunch of handicaps. Actually, they were supposed to be "jokes", which is usually for this community. But some little handicaps took this serious and spread it all around the game, which caused that little kids are believing into this crap. Some are registering here and spreading that stuff around. And as you know, myths are never ending. Some are "modificated" and get a kind of mutation.

I can't say anything about the myths, just that the Rendermen myth isn't true. I remember when one topic came up with this. The "Far Lands" myth is a bit complicated. It's possible, that there's something real into it, for example that going too far could crash Torque something. But I can't prove it, so this will just stay as an argument, without proof.
