In 1968, a student named Joel Silver introduced his idea of ultimate frisbee to the Columbia High School student council in New Jersey. The idea was accepted and a team was formed. The team practiced in a parking lot, with no lines except for endzones that were marked by random objects that they could find. Srevel colleges including Princeton, have played this very interesting sport. Today, their are about 100,000 Ultimate players in 40 different countries, and over 13,000 UPA (ultimate players association) members in the US.
