So with cars your practical application is basically transportation.
With firearms your practical uses are hunting and self defense.
I don't see how those aren't valid reasons.

i think people are hating the 870 as hunting shotguns.

we don't need self defence here because nobody has a gun to shoot me with, and violent crimes are just generally lower

We don't own any weapons because my father isn't aloud around them.

As for the city thing, I live in the woods.

Oh wait I do own a broken .22 rifle but its not at this home.
Its a 1950s(?) 34 micro groove barrel. Marlin.

It was a model 30, I was way off at first.
You load the bullet via tube under the barrel.
