Author Topic: Model colors won't change?  (Read 2694 times)

As some people may already know I am working on a matchstick to go with Zors Firefight script, my problem being I can't take and turn the dark brown matchstick light brown. I replaced the DTS and color files and such. I re-exported the model more than once to try and get it to work but I can't.

Anyone have an idea on what may be causing this?

What modeling program are you using? If Blender, PM me the blend.

Milkshape. I can never get Blender to work for me.

Define not work. You mean it's too hard to figure out or do you have technical problems? The Windows version of Blender works out of the box but apparently the Linux version requires glibc 2.11 and the Mac (OS X or later) version might need 3DxWare 10 Beta 4.

Technical problems.
I change the color of the shape ingame and I put the new color file in the zip incase it needs it. However it won't accept the change and keeps using the old one.

You're using little png images right? Not painting the model?

That is right. Although I think it fixed itself. I noticed that the last time I took a look at it the color was lighter. Atleast I think it was.

Also, if I were to release it as a modified and ported version would I get in trouble?

You could just change the colors in the PNGs into some bright colors that are very different from each other and see if it works.

You'd have to ask whoever you're making it for, not us.

Could this possibly be caused by the "colorShiftColor" command in the script? Try changing it's value and then test again.

that is if it is not fixed already, and your eyes were just playing tricks on you.

I'm porting an old mod and making it a little better.

I'm going to check the addon and see if the color has changed, will report back in 5-10 minutes.

Ah, no. It has not changed.
I'm going to experiment with it for a little bit and see what I can do.

Experimented and here are the results:

Changing the files within the zip did nothing
Deleting them did nothing as well
I changed colorShiftColor value

I have no clue why its refusing to change, I'm not really too worried about it as of now however, I just wanted it to be lighter.
I'll mess with it more tomorrow.

Send me the add-on you're doing something wrong. All of the above should have changed the colors.

I'm going to work with it a little more and see what I can do.

Still can't get anything to work, I really don't get why though, the model originally changed fine and everything at first.

I use Milkshape to do modeling btw.
