maxthon is too much clutter for me
How? Google Chrome has more clutter than maxthon? When is the last time you used maxthon :o

to be honest I was with FireFox for quiet a long time until I found out Chrome and for me it's much faster.

Maxthon goes toe-to-toe with chrome on speed and HTML 5 support.

Firefox Ftw. Its faster, more understandable ,and for My opinion is that its way better then Chrome and Mattox.

What bowser should I get

Firefox.

I just don't like the idea of someone from google spying on me and looking at my information.
They are known for that.

With that being the case google probably needs some eyebleach.

I've been using chrome, but I can't stand typing something into the browser bar and just getting advertisments rather than strictly the pages I've visited.

Uncheck "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar" under Privacy in Chrome's settings.

I've also heard a lot about how it tracks you, which I really don't like.

Check "Send a ‘Do Not Track’ request with your browsing traffic" under Privacy in Chrome's settings.

Nightly was okay, until I realized I can't change the default search engine. (even if I go into the advanced configs, it has no effect, idk why)

You must be doing something wrong. All I have to do is change the default here and it works for me:

i've been using opera for the last 5 or 6 years and i think its the best out of ie, firefox, chrome and maxthon, which are the other ones i've tried.

Check "Send a ‘Do Not Track’ request with your browsing traffic" under Privacy in Chrome's settings.
That sends a request to the web page, not Google. Google will still track your history.

Pretty helpful, thanks.

I personally use SeaMonkey, but about everyone else around here wouldn't want it, so Firefox is your best bet.
