Author Topic: Thinking about buying something for my guitar  (Read 573 times)

So I was recently looking at guitar pedals and whatnot, when I came across this;
Its an effects board called the Digitech RP255
Discuss whether I should get this one or a lower spec one please.

Can it record with usb and does it come with cubase? Cubase is a must have because i am taking music tech and thats one of the programs used. Plus i like the look of the digitech more and the fact it has a whammy pedal and built in looping.

I'll consider the line6, but I think that the Digitech is best for what I am doing right now. I'll put a poll for peoples' opinions.

Yeah, I was suprised when I found the image that it was trans but still had a neck.
Would prefer if you stayed ontopic though :P

Most digital effects sound a little "over processed" to my ears, if you catch my drift. I never used any line 6 products but I had a Fender Mustang and it killed the tone if I used too much of most effects. I would figure out the effects you like and buy the genuine versions.

Just remember, things cost more for a reason, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

But ultimately it's your call.

The POD products have never ceased to amaze me. Some of the bands I listen to use POD products and I can't tell the difference between the bands that use cab/amp setups. Of course, some bands mix both as well. The most popular amp and most prestigious modeler is the Fractal Audio AxeFX-II. But uh, it's a lot of money.

I can't say I've tried POD products either, but that's just because I don't play with a lot of effects. I usually just have gain with a wah-wah and a boss ds-1 for a hendrixy-fuzz like tone for different purposes.

Though I have been eyeing a Dunlop Rotovibe.

I'm sure my 1960s vibe isn't exactly the most helpful. Perhaps you can help him a lot more than I can.
