    This add-on is thirty-one lines of code. I made it in five minutes. 70% of that time was finding the variable names. No, seriously, why has no one ever made this? Is there just some form of coder apathy when it comes to extending the default spawnpoint functionality or something?

    Whatever. Anyway, about the add-on itself - it introduces a Global Spawnpoint brick. If a player has no spawnpoints themselves and has not used a checkpoint, they will spawn on a random global spawnpoint - if one exists. Otherwise they spawn randomly across the map, as before.

    The brick itself can only be planted by admins due to its massive possibilities of abuse if anyone could plant it. This restriction does not apply to loading bricks, but if you have clients loading bricks WITHOUT admin, then you probably have much, much, much bigger problems. Or you don't care either way.

        Anyway, without further ado:

A minigame, such as a fort wars, where people have personal spawn points. You wouldn't want checkpoints because then people could get stuck in other people's bases.

Now, the question is: Can I top this?

Actually I did make this a few years ago, I just for some reason never released it beyond the suggestions and requests forum.

I didn't include any checkpoint compatibility, but mine did have an RTB pref for whether it overrides a client's spawn bricks; with it on, you will spawn at a random "server spawn brick" as I called it, even if you planted a normal spawn brick.

Now, the question is: Can I top this?

Here's a few ideas of new spawnpoints:
bot checkpoint
vehicle checkpoint
larger teledoors
Datablock spawn points (Spawn as a different set datablock)

Global spawnpoints? Yes. Spawnpoints? Yes, but only their own - and that isn't part of this mod, that's just how they work by default. Checkpoints? As far as it can ever be possible to tell - yes; people randomly spawn between the ONE checkpoint that they can ever have, ever.
