How can you not see the point?
A brand doesn't make something not furry, just try to wrap your head around it. You're not the one who decides what is or isn't furry.

saying every anthro animal is furry is like saying every cartoon pony is mlp
No, no it's not.

It's not furry unless it's meant to be furry
pokemon weren't meant to be furry, therefore aren't furry
I thought you weren't a furry? Why do you care?

What is dis

tell me what the difference is, then
Well one is a show, and the other are anthropomorphic horses.

the difference between calling them all mlp and calling all anthro animals furries...

'Anthro animal' is pretty much the definition of furry so I don't get how to try to distinguish too. Most pokemon are anthro animals and therefore fit within the fandom's interest of anthro animals

And no, it's not the same as mlp, because mlp refers to specific characters and/or a specific art style, whereas furry is whatever animal/animal hybrid in whatever art style you want

because they fit within the fandom's interest doesn't mean that they are furries

All animals that possess human qualities are anthropomorphic, but not all anthropomorphic animals are furries.

Furry is a fandom. "Furry" is also an adjective that describes content that was created within or influenced by said fandom. Anything that was made outside of the fandom is not furry.

What is and isn't fuzzy is debatable, let's agree to disagree.

Hold on, I thought we already discussed that something isn't furry unless it says it is.

The main reason I call characters 'furry' (and I'm pretty sure others would agree) is because it's much shorter to say and type than "anthropomorphic animals". As I said previously, the latter is the definition of the former. Attempting to divide something into two groups based on where it came from (something that you, not being the artist, don't even know) just creates unnecessary complications in my mind. I've seen people (inside and outside the fandom) confused by it. "So...this picture is furry, but this one isn't? But they're both anthro animals?"
