Author Topic: disney, nickelodeon, and cn are really getting desperate  (Read 2359 times)

What these big corporations don't understand is that advertising your product with memes is like an adult playing with toys. It degrades the adult and makes the toys unenjoyable to the kids because whatever the adults like the kids hate and whatever the kids like the adults hate. Think about if your dad suddenly entered your room with a boombox and started dancing to dubstep. Would you want to listen to dubstep anymore because your boring dad now likes it? No.  This was made clear in the South Park "Chinpokomon" episode.
I wouldn't consult south park for philosophical advice.

lol.

They are not "getting desperate" they are acting exactly the same as they have always and will always act, in whatever method acquires them the most funds.
Just because 13 year old kids are buying the Y U NO shirts these companies see that as a way to make money. If you don't want these corporations to cater such annoying memes: make better memes.

Exactly, they are trying to cater to kids, not us.

Pretty much this

I find pretty much all shows 2003 - present to be bad, including such favourites as Drake and Josh
I don't like most cartoons from 2005 - present.
