Author Topic: NSA PRISM Data Mining Program - What is your opinion?  (Read 15105 times)

I want cameras in every bathroom, don't want terrorists to make a nuclear device in their. People shouldn't mind because they have nothing to hide.
Because scanning data for keywords with computers is totally as intrusive as bathroom cameras. Airport scanners, which no one cares about anymore, are more intrusive than this data mining program.

Well I mean we're recording video in your home and we just want the bits where you MIGHT be making bombs, so that isn't intrusive?

Except, they aren't watching; they are reading. That would be like if they stood by your mailbox and looked through your letters with x-ray vision that could only see specific words, and if they saw certain words then they would open your letters and actually read them. They also make copies of the letters just in case.

Yes it is. All of these things are equally intrusive.

I strongly disagree that this is as intrusive as watching me in the washroom.

That is strange, because you have a load of posts on the Internet that you freely allow all of us to look at for any words, not just keywords. I have not seen any videos of you in the bathroom.

You're missing the point he was making.

I'm slowly beginning to predict that there are going to be certain douchebags on the internet that will begins to trick their friends into searching for bomb instructions on Google just to get them on the suspected terrorist list. I can see it now.

You happened to bring up the worst example considering mail is one of the most private and protected methods of communication in the US, being that significant laws would have to be changed in order for it to take place.

I have searched about the chemical composition of meth, how to make it, how nuclear bombs work, and a lot of other things. I have not been contacted by any government agencies. I have not noticed any black SUVs trailing me wherever I go.

I guess that would be the difference in point of view from me to the opposing side. I view intrusive as something that pries into my life in a way that could be annoying. Other people view intrusive as something that pries into their life in a way they feel is illegal.

Well no stuff, that doesn't mean you haven't been placed on watch. lol

They're not going to tell you if they suspect you. That would kind of ruin the element of surprise on their part.

They aren't looking to surprise people. I have talked to someone who they approached about this sort of thing. You have to go in pretty deep for them to check you out.

If I went searching on google "How do I make a homemade bomb?"

Bam. Suspect. They're not gonna pass that off if they're going to be this pushy about invading our privacy.

You have nothing to worry about if you nothing to hide in a bathroom. Only a paranoid terrorist would say that.

you know that you're not off the grid just cause you have a tracfone right

in fact, some tracEfones work on verizons networks which are the ones explicitly defined in the prism leaks

Yeah, but it was better at the time. I don't even use my phone. It's a piece of stuff. Haven't used it ever since it ran out of time. I just use my iPod in wireless hot spots. lol
