Author Topic: NSA PRISM Data Mining Program - What is your opinion?  (Read 15107 times)

I personally don't know why everyone is freaking out about it. It was pretty obvious things like this were going on during post 9/11. I don't think it is right, but I knew it was going on. What is your opinion on the program? Do you think it is for the better, or the worst?

You can read more about it here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/06/us-tech-giants-nsa-data

EDIT: I'd like to add to the fact this has been going on for 7 years.

idk what to think.  always knew that there was a degree of monitoring done by the NSA post-9/11.  not sure how this changes anything except increased public awareness finally.

so the feds are going to see a bunch of people jacking it on cam for "horny skype girls"

well whatever always knew the government was a bunch of friends anyway

I am going to have to agree with you here. I'd say our government is just as corrupt as the others to a degree.

you cigarettes never believed me

when i told you google tracked you

now who is the fool?

"If you don't do anything bad, you won't have to worry" doesn't begin to cover the breach of privacy this has. It shouldn't exist at all, period.

Look at what Obama said about this

And then he lets this through..

It is amazing how many people are afraid of "invasion of privacy" in this age. Firstly, general information on people is pretty useless. Secondly, what did you think would happen when you gave all of your information to 5,000 different private corporations? Seriously, you have to be paranoid to be worried about this sort of thing.

tl;dr Fox News stuffs its pants whereas it hasn't bitched about this stuff before

i like mashed potatoes with butter.

Why does the government need to know what we are doing? Talk about trust issues.

It's not just public information, if it was it wouldn't be that big a dead. Anything you do on skype, anything you type into an online text box, whatever you do on your xbox one, etc. They have everything.

Oh no, what I type to people and what I say to them. Ahhh! Do you really think they hold all of your information and then just read through it for fun and blackmail? No, they hold it and when you start researching how to build a nuclear bomb then they look at your history and catch you. If you haven't been flagged as someone to watch then they probably throw it away after some years anyway.
