Author Topic: Issues with authenticating key.  (Read 944 times)

Blockland was working fine until recently it decided that it cant authenticate my key. I've tried adding exceptions to Blockland and its ports on my firewall, and turning off my firewall entirely. When I enter my key, it hangs at Authentication: Connecting.. for about half a minute, then it retries, and then it goes into offline mode. No idea why this is happening but I'll attach my console.log in case that may be of any help. I've also tried this on a vanilla install of Blockland and it still ceases to work (that console log is included too).

Have you tried deleting your key.dat and then re-entering your key?

Just tried deleting the key.dat and restarting, still fails to authenticate my key. In a few hours im going to try it on another computer to see if its just my computer or something else :\. Thanks for the help though

Your first console.log file was blank. I read your vanilla console.log file and it didn't really explain anything of why it's not working. Has your internet been going slower lately? Post your internet tests at http://www.speedtest.com and http://www.pingtest.com below please.

Oops! I put the wrong links in. The correct links are http://www.speedtest.net andhttp://www.pingtest.net, sorry about that.

Those two websites produced the following speeds/stats:

Pingtest.net - 49ms ping, 5ms jitter, packetloss failed to test.

Those are pretty decent internet results. I don't your service provider is the issue. Did you try seeing if the same problem happens on other computers connected to your router yet?

I don't think your service provider is the issue.*

I wont be able to until tomorrow unfortunately (the other computer in the house is unavailable at the moment), and I should get off and get some rest (it's about 1 AM atm). I'll test in the morning and post results, thanks so much for your help though, its much appreciated!

Okay, i'm back, just tried running vanilla installs of blockland on a windows 7 laptop, still no dice.
It must be something to do with my router, but it has worked with blockland in the past, so at this point i'm stumped fully xD

Hook your laptop up directly to your modem by an ethernet cable and see if anything changes.

Just tried a wired connection to the router from the laptop (using a different cable then my main computer), still not working. I forgot that about a week or two before this issue arose my parents swapped the router with a new one (which wiped all of my ports, ffs), even though blockland did work with that router, i'm going to give the old one a try. If that doesn't work, then ill just try a direct connection past my router to the modem.

I think it may be possible that blockland has a self concious and decided I should never play it again. Just kidding, but it still isn't working after even trying another router. I'm going to keep mucking with settings and configurations to see if I can get it working. Thanks for the help though. If I find the solution to this I'll post it here
