No, it's a complaint about oversimplification of natives. That's literally the exact opposite of what you just said. It's also not a historical simulator. It's an alternate historical simulator. They're complaining there's little to no chance of alternative histories where that doesn't happen.
Except there is and it's quite evident that you haven't played the loving game. Oversimplification? monday EVERYONE was oversimplified at launch. Western Europeans had objectively better tech and units as a rule compared to even eastern Europeans and the tech scaled from there. It's harder for natives to get a leg up sure but that's the whole loving point. The game wouldn't be fun if the AI was alternate history every loving game. The fun is about overcoming the odds you are faced with. As proof here's what I did in the game.

Also the game IS a historical simulator dumbass. There is a reason that you can go to any point in history between 1444 and 1821 and it's accurate to the times.
