the reason there is no backwards compatibility is because the xbox one would literally have to have a 360 inside of it. there is some emulation only possible at a hardware level. this would make the console bigger, heavier, and more expensive..

which is ironic because they bundled the loving thing with a $150 pile of stuff that you yell at

I wouldn't doubt if they purposely gave up backwards compatibility to have the same price, but bundle the kinect 2 with it.
