Author Topic: GSF maps?  (Read 2893 times)

Remember the good o' days on GSF paradise, nyc and san andreas (all made by [GSF]Ghost), wouldn't it be amazing for a group of builders to remake the maps to the almost exact block, I don't know eh, leave a comment what you think?

The below is NOT my video and I would recommend giving Danboii96 a like and a sub

I liked the maps but I always found the decals or textures on them a bit weird. That's just me.

It could be done, but it'd have a huge brick count probably.

good point

I've been wanting to convert the maps into brick saves, but I'm going to be busy with my own projects (apart from Blockland) for awhile. However, you can use the CHV option on the Procedural Terrain Generator to help recreate the terrain. If y'all are serious I can even update PTG to include 8x, 16x and 32x bricks.

Well yes that would be phenomenal, but I am serious because I want to recreate the old days by having the most fun maps on blockland again, if you could update PTG that would be worth the update. :D

I was thinking about building a very undetailed city, like they had in Roblox. What I admire from that game when it came to cities is you don't need huge detail to satisfy people, and therefore can create a huge city with tons of streets and places to drive around and such without having to worry about lag. I'm thinking about building something like that in the future, which would be somewhat similar to GSF NYC with all the buildings and all.

But when you build something you need to be passionate and make it look aesthetically pleasing for people to like, you may prefer it that way and I respect that but I would rather go to a server and see a master piece rather than go to a server and see pretty much nothing decent, and you go on to build that, post it on the forums and get likes and stuff, because then people will like your content and want more, then you will possibly have a huge successful fan-base. The lag though is a bum because maps use less CPU n stuff  than actually builds, but imagine it though, also you will need to get a better machine which will suck but still, amazing idea, possible and overall brilliant.

-snip-
I still need to remember how new you are to this game and how you don't quite understand people.

My purpose was to make a low detailing city BECAUSE GSF NYC is as undetailing as stuff. The only detail I'd have to put would be colored windows and street signs and stuff. If I wanted to build a fancy city, I'd happily join Wehrmacht's server and work on our clan city.

Personally I'd rather see one of his house maps rebuilt. Those were boss.

gsf maps were cool as heck
i have a lot of good memories from them, paradise especially

a brick remake would be interesting but itd take a lot of time and would probably be laggy

The coolest part about them was that they were simple and vast and you could do almost anything you like and not have to worry about complicated stuff. GSF NYC and Paradise I liked the most because of how you can either do a whole game of TDM or a complex Roleplay, or just screw around and drive stuff.

Man, yea I can remember all the times you use to go onto rp servers and it would be great fun with no bossy people on there and just fun people directing the server.

let's get marble man in here to re-create them in static shapes
