Author Topic: Master Server being spammed?  (Read 1719 times)

Almost 90% of the lines on my CityRPG server are:
Sending punch packet to 108.72.211.112:17243
Yes, it's the same IP/port every single time.
People on my server are also experiencing lag because of it.

apparently someone is spamming connections to your server unless that's not what that line means

I think that line means your server is sending a response to a connection request, or somewhere else. It could be the master server, I don't know the IP

It means that a player is trying to connect to your server then cancelling and reconnecting. The server thinks he wants in so sends the packets to connect him. Just block the IP, I can write a mod for you.

Please.

That's the gayest stuff in the world. Might as well block his BLID too if you can, if his IP is dynamic it would end up changing sometime.

not only that, but if possible make it log both, then log whatever they are used in combination with (same IP and different BLID, logs the BLID)

That's impossible because the blid is retrieved from the auth server after the connection is successfully created

Yeah I was thinking about that.

Correct. Networking at the packet level isn't even exposed to the scripting engine.

The "ping" packet is only a few bytes for a ping and a reply. I'm not exactly sure how big punch packets are because my knowledge of Blockland's networking is a little old.

There is already an IP Ban mod. No need to make a new one.

Isn't it made by Pecon7?

I thought that would be me trying to get in, cause I was being rejected of connecting, but it's not my IP so.
