Author Topic: Blockland crashes when joining games  (Read 1263 times)

Any time I try to join a game, it'll get the file manifesto, then when it starts to download the files, it'll crash and give me this error:

I've tried messing with some of the download settings, but no combination that I've tried has helped.

I am able to join default Speedkart gamemodes and Badspot's Block Party.

Post a console.log please

Here it is. Only thing I changed in the log was that I removed the ping requests when I queried for servers.

There is a ton of errors about downloading blobs and that it failed for url. Does your computer have access to download the files? Meaning are they administrator only or can you make those changes to your computer.

I believe it should, but I'll make sure to try running it as administrator.

There could be a problem with your cache file. Navigate to "Documents\Blockland" and rename the file called "cache.db" to "cache.db.old". This will cause you to redownload everything.

I made sure I ran Blockland as Administrator and I renamed cache.db, but I still go the error. I'm attaching the most recent console.log.

Interesting. I was just able to join Placid's server. Maybe it has to do with certain host's add-ons.

After trying to join a few servers, I've figured out that I can join any server with the addons I have installed, has only default, or has only one or two that I need to download. I'm thinking it's a problem with my computer, but it might be a problem with my router. Luckily, I have access to another PC at the moment, so I'm going to try Blockland on that one.

You might not have access or something to download the mods, if you want you could just download like every mod on RTB so you wouldn't have to download them when you join the servers.

That's an option. It just dawned on me that my firewall might be messing with things, so I'm currently checking to see what permissions are doing what.

If you have it set to use only safe connections it will probably be blocking all blob download connections (Depending on what firewall you are using)

I'm just using Windows Firewall, and it seemed like it shouldn't be blocking Blockland. I'm checking my anti-virus to see if it's messing with anything. I might go ahead and disable both of them just to see if it'll work with both of them out of the picture.

Still crashes. I haven't tried it on another PC yet, but that's my next priority.

If it doesn't work on the other pc it might be some router settings to block certain things or maybe something on your network is blocking it.
