trying to decide on which method to use for creating landscape:

2x

4x

zones

discussion anyone?

I don't like the type of terrain where people just hold down super shift like this. I think it would look a lot better if you made it uneven rather than working on a grid. Also, the first method requires zone bricks, which make it hard to build inside.

I like it even. But opinions, opinions.

1. I think you meant the third, the first doesn't require any.
2. I don't see how it makes it hard.
Other than the fact that you can't build other zone bricks inside.

the only issue with zonebricks is the fact you cant place water bricks or other zone bricks inside (since theyre pretty much labeled as water) to overcome this however, I had the idea of simply disabling the zone bricks altogether to create floating bricks, but that would be troublesome since I would have to restart the server back and forth and they could be deleted by simply ctrl ZING

Marbleman created an override to the brick system however which allows for brick to be placed into the air and inside eachother without worry for support, so that may ease things up a bit

where is everybody getting these tree bricks

I think they're from GSF's modular terrain topic, a download near the bottom of the OP.

I think its so you can use cube bricks that float.
You don't need to bother supporting them.

The Fillcan and Duplicator don't work inside zone bricks. You also can't have water. It is also a lot harder to build if all your bricks float.

all tradeoffs. its easier to do zone terrain and can save support bricks and simplify the process.

i'd go with 4x4 but with 2x2 detailing in places. brickscape is best, not pseudo-brickscape.
