Is it possible to run a blockland dedicated server on a linux Centos dedicated server?

You'd need to have a desktop environment installed for Wine (not sure anymore, last time I tried to install Wine 1.4 I had to install GNOME 2,) but yeah, you can.

You can through Wine yes.
Just use Openbox since you still need a graphical environment.

Or GNOME 2, after you set up your hard drives, root password etc, it'll ask you for a category of install, make sure to select Desktop, that gives you the require desktop enviornment and then you can add on individually from there such as openSSH so you can SSH into your server (it's like Remote Desktop but the command line).

Why would you use Gnome 2
If you want to use Gnome 2 for some odd reason on a server, get MATE. Gnome 2 isn't maintained anymore.

It's still fast, probably not as fast as openbox but just because its not maintained anymore doesn't mean it's not worth using, it's not like when they stopped support for it the last release was somethig unstable. Well actually no you're right, there's this whole glitch with the icons on the top right panel moving around when you log in as a different user.

@OP, if you want you can install GNOME 2 and IMO it has the best login screen (http://www.techotopia.com/index.php/Image:Centos_6_login_screen.png) and then you can always install something like Openbox on there too. When you go to sign in, in the bottom left corner there is a little rectangle with a pull down arrow, click that and you can change between desktop environments.

MATE is literally an updated version of Gnome 2. Using Gnome 2 is pointless.

Also, Cinnamon on Mint totally has a way better login.

Yeah, but for some reason when I install other DEs, the login screen from whatever was the first DE to be installed is still what shows up on the login screen. I also personally prefer the design of GNOME (two bars) than MATE that's in linux mint so here is another option, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c9/MATE_1.6_on-Debian-Wheezy.png

Looks really rock solid and clean.

Can anyone help set it up?

We're talking about a server here though. He's not going to use it for everyday activities. Gnome 2 and MATE are just going to pointlessly use resources, even if he has some high-tier specs.

Openbox dependencies. (may differ slightly on CentOS)
MATE dependencies. (may differ slightly)

And if you really need a login manager, LXDM is extremely lightweight and I've never had any issues with it, although an .xinitrc file + the 'startx' command should be enough for Openbox.

What specifically do you need set up?

Wine is what you're looking for

After you install it, just install Blockland like you normally would and have it create the dedicated server shortcuts.

Would it be possible for you to help with installation?

I'm on Arch though, it's not the same as any Fedora-based distro.

It gives a command to get it though on the download page, try that.

I mean connect with FTP
