No I don't think it really does.
If the brown townogy is throwing computers into xbox vs ps4 and wii U, then it doesn't exactly work. The argument is that Computers work better for the exact same purpose you would use a gaming console for, therefore it's better than those. If you can compare gaming consoles to each other, why is comparing them to PCs not allowed?

I just guessing here, but I think it's mainly because there are so many types of computers, so it's, well, weird, to compare it and say "PC is better than *console*" Since some people have computers that are stuff and others have NASA computers.

Also it doesn't really fit in as a console.

pc ownership IS relevant to this and all gaming discussions. especially since all the consoles have become entertainment boxes and not just gaming ones.

the prices are getting closer and closer as well. i mean my friend just got some mid-end prebuild desktop off newegg for 600 bucks. it's hardware is already better then the xbone and ps4's and will age better as well.

In Ps4's defense, it costs 400$ and is more optimized than a higher end 400$ PC for gaming. I have games that have terrible glitches because of driver issues, because I don't have thousand dollar vid cards in my computer. That doesn't happen for consoles. Also people like the controller experience.

the ps4 has the equivalent of a 140 dollar vid card. it dosnt take much to render 1080 on a tv. tvs cant handle anything fancy like a pc can anyways, so you dont need good video card in a console. and pcs DO use controllers if you want. for any game.
